Outland Denim was founded by James Bartle in 2011. With a vision to enable freedom for vulnerable women, James wanted to provide employment opportunities, living wages and career progression for women who have experienced, or are at risk of experiencing, sex trafficking. Outland Denim has opened their doors to welcome over 100 staff from varying backgrounds of vulnerability. The company takes pride in genuinely ensuring that their team is being taken care of and have the opportunity to progress in all aspects of life.
Their environmental mission began following their social mission as “vulnerable peoples are also affected the most by environmental degradation”.
Through state of the art technology and the everlasting hunger for innovation, Outland Denim is an incredible example of how fashion can be a force for good.
The company itself has a unique business model that proves that the fashion industry can be the solution to some of the world’s most pressing global, social and environmental issues.
